Ontario Fruit and Veg Convention a great learning opportunity


The annual Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Convention starts tomorrow at the Scotiabank Convention Centre in Niagara Falls.  http://www.ofvc.ca/

The 2-day conference includes several sessions for horticultural producers.  Highlights include:

Integrated Pest Management: biopesticides, alternatives to soil fumigants for nematode management, organic production, sprayer technology, foliar diseases, agri-chemical update, nematode management Thurs 9-12,

Crop Nutrition: soil test interpretation, treating post-production water, nutrition and cover crops in vineyards,

Irrigation: including micro-irrigation and using EvapoTranspiration scheduling, Drip irrigation workshop

Funding for Horticulture: Funding programs Thurs 2-4 pm

New crops:  uncommon berries Thurs 9:30 – 12

And so much more!  This conference runs from 9-5 February 19-20.
