Dang, It’s Still Dry

She'sStillDryAlthough many parts of southern Ontario received a nice long rainfall this weekend….many of those areas received only 6 or 7 mm and not the 15-20 mm our soils were needing.  Where a thick layer of mulch is used in gardens and landscapes, we are finding that underlying soils are still DRY.

A lot of climatologists are predicting a hot summer, with areas such as the southwest projected to receive less than average precipitation.

IMG_20180524_2032301Which is why so many growers and landscapers are installing irrigation systems to improve root growth and plant health.

Irrigation Courses are available to professionals at Landscape Ontario and there are a lot of resources online from the Irrigation Association.
